Cushion and Pillow Covers All cushion and pillow covers are removable and machine washable. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Air dry and avoid high heat, which can affect fabric texture and fit.

Seat Base Covers Spot clean only. Apply a small amount of neutral soap diluted in water to a soft, clean cloth and work in gentle circular motions. Do not saturate. Allow to air dry completely before use. Do not machine wash or submerge.

Foam Bases and Cushion Fills Do not wash foam. If the base foam becomes damp, avoid direct heat sources such as radiators or hair dryers, which can degrade foam over time. Remove cushions and pillows and let the foam base air dry.

Treating Spills The Terra Knit fabric features an anti-stain surface treatment that causes most liquids to bead rather than absorb. Act quickly and blot the area with a clean, dry cloth to lift the liquid. Then treat with a warm neutral soap solution using gentle circular motions. Rinse by blotting with a clean damp cloth and allow to air dry. Avoid scrubbing, which can push the stain deeper into the fibers.

Long-Term Fabric Care Frequent washing may gradually reduce the effectiveness of the anti-stain treatment over time. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, dry cleaning solvents, or additional fabric treatments, as these can compromise both the finish and the treatment. Some light color variation and natural pilling may occur with extended daily use. Both are characteristic of the fabric and are not considered defects.

Cushion Rotation For even wear over time, rotate cushions periodically. This helps the Comfortflow™ shredded memory foam maintain its shape and ensures consistent comfort across all seats.

Big Joe 2-Year Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty*
Big Joe warrants this item against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for 2 years from the date of delivery when used under normal residential conditions and cared for properly. Covered issues include qualifying defects in items such as seams, stitching, zippers, foam integrity, and other material or workmanship issues.

If this product is specifically labeled fade resistant and UV treated, the Big Joe warranty also includes limited coverage for excessive sun fading during the 2-year warranty period.

The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover accidental stains or spills, cuts, punctures, pet damage, burns, misuse, improper storage or maintenance, mold or mildew, commercial use, normal wear, or ordinary weathering.

Optional Mulberry Protection Plan*
For extra peace of mind, you can add a Mulberry Protection Plan at checkout. Mulberry helps protect your Big Joe furniture from accidental damage starting on day one. Depending on the plan purchased, Mulberry can also continue covered defect or malfunction protection after the Big Joe manufacturer’s warranty ends.

Covered incidents may include accidental stains and spills, accidental rips and tears, liquid marks and rings, and certain burn or heat marks, subject to the final plan terms. Approved claims have no deductible.

Mulberry does not cover pre-existing damage, theft or loss, damage during delivery, misuse, unauthorized repairs, natural disasters, or normal wear and weather-related deterioration such as prolonged environmental fading, moisture-related deterioration, mold, mildew, or rust, subject to the final plan terms.

 How to file a claim
If you believe your item has a manufacturing defect, contact Big Joe Support with your proof of purchase and photos of the issue.

If you purchased a Mulberry Protection Plan and need to report accidental damage, file your claim directly through your Mulberry dashboard. Mulberry will review the claim and determine whether repair, replacement, reimbursement, or another resolution applies under the plan.

Is this a real sofa?
The Averra™ Sectional is a full-size modular sectional sofa. It is built on high-density cut foam seat bases that provide the kind of firm, grounded support you would expect from a traditional sofa frame. The cushions and pillows are filled with Comfortflow™ Cooling Shredded Memory Foam for plush, breathable comfort on top. There is no wood or metal frame, but the foam construction is engineered to deliver the structure and support of a real sofa.

What does frameless mean, and is it actually sturdy?
Frameless means there is no wood or metal skeleton inside the sofa. The structure comes entirely from the high-density foam bases, which are engineered to hold their shape and support everyday use without a rigid frame. The result is a sectional that is lighter, easier to ship, and simpler to configure than a traditional framed sofa without sacrificing support.

What is Comfortflow™ technology?
Comfortflow™ Cooling Shredded Memory Foam is a custom blend of cooling gel-infused memory foam and soft fiber, shredded to create natural airflow within each cushion. The shredded construction allows the fill to adapt to your body and breathe, so it stays comfortable over longer sits rather than trapping heat or going flat.

What is the difference between the cushions and the seat bases?
The seat bases are built with high-density cut foam, a firm, structured foam that supports your weight and holds its shape over time. The cushions and pillows on top are filled with the Comfortflow™ Cooling Shredded Memory Foam blend, which provides the soft, adaptive layer you feel when you sit down. Both layers work together to deliver a sofa that feels grounded and supportive without sacrificing plushness.

How long does the foam take to fully expand after unboxing?
The foam bases are ready to use almost immediately after unboxing. The Comfortflow™ cushions typically fluff to their full shape within a few minutes. We recommend allowing everything 48 hours to reach its full potential, but most customers find the sofa comfortable right out of the box.

Is the Averra™ sectional modular?
Yes. The Averra™ sectional is a fully modular. Each piece connects with built-in straps and can be disconnected and rearranged freely, with no tools required, so you can change the layout whenever your space or life changes.

Does it require any assembly?
No tools and no assembly are required. Each piece arrives in its own box, expands immediately, and connects to the other pieces using the built-in straps. Open the boxes, let the foam expand, connect the pieces, and sit down.

How do the pieces stay connected?
Each piece has built-in connecting straps on the base that secure adjoining sections together. The cushions also have a non-slip backing to prevent shifting during use. No tools or hardware are required to connect or reconfigure.

Can I reconfigure the layout later?
Yes. The modular design is built to be reconfigured freely. Disconnect the straps, rearrange the pieces, and reconnect. No tools required. This makes the Averra™ Sectional a strong choice for moves, room changes, or evolving households.

Is the Averra™ a good sectional for small spaces?

What fabric is used on the Averra™ Sectional?
The Averra™ Sectional is upholstered in Terra Knit, a proprietary polyester-nylon blend with a refined texture and elevated hand feel. The surface is 96% Polyester and 4% Nylon, with a 100% Polyester backing.

How durable is the fabric?
Terra Knit has been tested to a 35,000+ Martindale rub count, which is the industry standard test for fabric abrasion resistance. At 35,000+ cycles, it sits in the heavy-duty residential range, making it well-suited for everyday use including households with kids.

Is the Averra™ sectional washable? How do the washable covers work?
Yes. All cushion and pillow covers on the Averra™ sectional are removable and machine washable. Take them off, wash in cold water on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, and air dry, avoiding high heat. The high-density foam bases should not be machine washed and are spot clean only.

Is the fabric OEKO-TEX certified?
