FAQs

How does the 3-in-1 work? Do I need to do anything special to switch positions?

No assembly required beyond the initial setup. Simply reposition the Turnabout™ chair depending on how you want to use it. Fold it upright and lean it against a wall for a supportive chair with a backrest.
Rotate it onto its side and press the front corner inward to create a cozy nested lounger. Lay it flat and spread it out for an oversized floor pillow.

Does it need to lean against a wall to work as a chair?

In chair mode, yes. Leaning it against a wall or a sturdy surface gives you the backrest support. It's not a freestanding upright chair. For lounger and floor pillow mode, it sits freely on the floor.

What are the exact dimensions?

The Turnabout™ Regular chair measures 75" x 55" x 20". The Turnabout™ Kids chair measures 48" x 31" x 19". Keep in mind that in floor pillow mode the Regular spreads out to its full 75" x 55" footprint, so make sure you have the floor space for it.

Is this actually a bean bag, or is it something different?

It's a step above a classic bean bag! Instead of traditional beads, it's filled with Big Joe® shredded foam technology: Cloud-like, never goes flat, and bounces back into shape on its own. No refilling ever needed.

Will it hold its shape over time?

Yes. The shredded foam is designed to be long-lasting. If it ever feels uneven, just toss and flip it a few times to redistribute the fill. It will never need to be refilled or replaced.

Does it require any assembly when it arrives?

Just one step: the cover ships separate from the foam insert. You'll remove the insert from its vacuum-sealed packaging, wrap the cover around it, and zip it up. That's the full setup.

Will it look deflated or flat when it arrives?

Yes, because it ships vacuum-compressed, it may take up to 72 hours to fully expand to its fluffy shape. To speed things up, shake, toss, and press the insert while it's inside the cover to help the foam distribute evenly. It'll get noticeably better within the first few hours.

Is it actually comfortable to sit upright in?

Yes! In chair mode, the foam provides a structured, cushiony seat when the chair is leaned against a wall. It's supportive enough for gaming, reading, or casual use. It is not a rigid desk chair, but genuinely comfortable for relaxed upright sitting.

Can two people use it at once?

The Regular size is designed for one person. It's generously sized for one adult to fully stretch out across, but is roomy enough for two people to sit together in floor pillow mode, which is great for side-by-side gaming sessions or hanging out.

Is it good for sleepovers and overnight guests?

It's a great occasional sleep surface, especially for kids and teens. In floor pillow mode it's a plush, oversized crash pad. It's not intended as a permanent adult mattress, but for sleepovers it's a crowd favorite.

Is it good for gaming?

Yes. Chair mode gives you back support against the wall for longer sessions, and you can always flip to lounger mode when you're ready to fully decompress. Floor pillow mode is great for gaming with a friend.

What does the corded plush fabric feel like?

Soft, textured, and cozy! It has a subtle ribbing that looks elevated and feels great to sink into. It's one of Big Joe's most-loved fabrics and gets softer with use.

What are the vegan leather accents?

How do I clean it?

Remove the cover by unzipping it from the insert. Brush off any loose dirt, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. No bleach. Air dry only. The foam insert is spot clean only, it does not go in the wash.

Will I ever need to add more filling?
